John Hartson launches testicular cancer awareness campaign

21 04 2015

Former Celtic footballer John Hartson has launched a new testicular cancer awareness campaign, Know Your Balls.

The initiative was launched at Hartson's annual charity golf day, attended by former Celtic stars Alan Stubbs and Chris Sutton, ex Rangers boss Walter Smith, and The Voice winner Stevie McCrorie. Hartson, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which spread to his lungs and brain, commented 'I was 34 when my cancer was diagnosed and at one point I thought I'd never see my 40th birthday. I had 67 courses of chemotherapy and two brain operations which could easily have been avoided if I'd known more about the signs of testicular cancer'.
